Big New Additions Coming to Ohio Valley Mall

It’s no secret that big changes have been underway for months. Now the guessing game is over. Three popular names in retail are about to land at Ohio Valley Mall. Academy Sports + Outdoors and Burlington will soon occupy much of what used to be a Sears store, while Boot Barn will set up shop in part of another former Macy’s space. All three stores will be the first of their brand in the Ohio Valley.

Academy Sports + Outdoors is one of the nation's leading full-line sporting goods and outdoor retailers. With more than 300 stores across 21 states, it offers a broad assortment of quality hunting, fishing, and camping equipment and gear, along with sports and leisure products, footwear, apparel and much more. The 56,000 square foot store will be located at Ohio Valley Mall and will become Ohio Valley’s go-to destination for active-minded families looking to make fun memories through fitness, the outdoors, weekend activities, team sports, and so much more at everyday low prices. This location will provide the best assortment of sports and outdoors gear you’ll find anywhere, including popular national brands like Nike, Jordan Brand, adidas, YETI, Titleist, and Shimano, as well as tremendous everyday value and quality through its private brands such as Magellan Outdoors, Freely, R.O.W., BCG, H2OX, Redfield, Mosaic and O'Rageous.

Burlington Coat Factory started over 50 years ago selling off-price coats out of a factory building in New Jersey. Today, what is now simply Burlington Stores is a Fortune 500, nationally recognized off-price retailer which operated 1,138 stores as of the end of the second quarter of Fiscal 2025, in 46 states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico. Those stores offer an extensive selection of in-season, high-quality branded merchandise at up to 60% off other retailers' prices, including fashion-focused women’s apparel, menswear, youth apparel, baby, beauty, footwear, accessories, home, toys, gifts and coats. When the Ohio Valley store opens in late 2026, it will be accessible through an interior mall entrance.

Boot Barn will also open its doors later in 2026, in over 13,000 square feet of what used to be Macy’s. It will be located on the I-70 side of the mall, not far from Coaches Burger Bar. Boot Barn started out as one store in 1978 and has since become the largest western and work wear retailer in the nation. The store proudly offers the broadest selection of cowboy boots, work boots, western wear, workwear, western-inspired fashion, and outdoor gear. 

Ohio Valley Mall is located on I-70, Exit 218-Mall Road, in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
